Family Camp 2023

He is Building His Church

And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
Matthew 16:18 CSB

The Schedule

More Info

Disenchantment. Deconstruction. Defeat. Denial. Disbelief.
We live in the era of “dis-” and “de-” just about everything. The story of our time is one of tearing down, rejecting, and resisting. It is not a true story. The true story is one of constructing, correcting, and creating.
The true story is the story of Jesus Christ, who has been, is, and always will be building his Church.

Mark and Lauralea Franklin

Our Speaker: Mark Franklin

Mark joined Cherry Grove Friends Church as Associate Pastor in May of 2021 and became Pastor in February 2022. At various times he has been a retail manager, cleaner of Northwest Portland office buildings, and Twin Rocks Friends Camp Program Director. Mark also spent 10 years as part of the Preaching Team at City’s Edge Community Church, where he worked with teens and convinced a bunch of early 20-somethings to read through the Old Testament a whole book at a time. He also once wrote a blog about the Bible every day for a year. In keeping with the Twin Rocks 2023 theme of "Under Construction," Mark's topic this year is "He Is Building His Church."

Important Reminders

  • Lake Activities are only available while lifeguards are on duty. Check the schedule for these hours.
  • NO swimming or even wading in the ocean due to very strong undertow. This is a dangerous beach. Please stay safe and out of the Pacific. (The stream is a great alternative for kids who want to get wet!)
  • The Dining Hall is closed 30 minutes before each meal so that the set-up teams can work. Please remain outside the Dining Hall during this time. Otherwise, it’s a great place to hang out!
  • The nurse's station is next to the Tillamook Bay room in Hadley Hall, but our nurses will usually be elsewhere on campus. Please find a TRFC staff or Family Camp team member if you need medical assistance.
  • Watch for up-to-the-moment announcements and reminders on screen before each morning meeting.

Bridge Code : 511

Please use the bridge every time. If the stairs are a challenge, there is a limited amount of on-street parking at the beach. Please do not cross the highway on foot.
