Ultra Expanded Geek Test
Just 'cause we really need Dave to get a higher score than the rest of us: take this test, if you dare.
And Dave, no fair doing things like answering "no" to whether you've finished two books in the last week. We all know it's Monday, and you might not finish your second book until tomorrow. But it will still count!

My score:
You answered "yes" to 182 of 500 questions, making you 63.6% nerd pure (36.4% nerd corrupt); that is, you are 63.6% pure in the nerd domain (you have 36.4% nerd in you).
According to the scoring guide, your nerd experience level is: Closet nerd

Okay, I took the test, and I scored low again. Yes, I said I'd finished more than one book in the last week (three so far this week), and I didn't explain my way out of answers. I know Annette was really hoping that I'd have a high score, and there definitely were some sections where I checked a lot of stuff off. However, at the end of it all, I'm not as big a geek/nerd as some of you think.

You answered "yes" to 139 of 500 questions, making you 72.2% nerd pure (27.8% nerd corrupt); that is, you are 72.2% pure in the nerd domain (you have 27.8% nerd in you).

According to the scoring guide, your nerd experience level is: Nerd in Training

Your Weirdness Factor (AKA Uniqueness Factor) is 33%, based on a comparison of your test results with 29463 other submissions for this test.

re: Geek Test
I believe Dave, but here's the thing. He's such a nerd, they don't even have categories for him. In other words, I didn't see the following questions: "Have you ever read a book so late you missed work the next day" or "Have you ever rented the season of 24 so you could watch it real time (24 hours in a row)". He's really too geeky to even be a geek, if that's makes sense.

Anyway . . . here was my report

You answered "yes" to 77 of 500 questions, making you 84.6% nerd pure (15.4% nerd corrupt); that is, you are 84.6% pure in the nerd domain (you have 15.4% nerd in you).
According to the scoring guide, your nerd experience level is: Nerd wannabe
Your Weirdness Factor (AKA Uniqueness Factor) is 32%, based on a comparison of your test results with 29463 other submissions for this test.

The average purity for this test is 62.5%.
The first submission for this test was received March 4, 1996.

(1) Dave Bowler is now at 16.97% geek
(2) Jason is down to 31% geek
(3) Dave Collins is 34% geek (does that put him at second place?)

re: Geek Test
My brother and sister in law took the geek test last night.
Michael got just over 13%, and Britany just over 4%. Most of the questions she answered affirmatively were "Michael's fault" in her opinion.
Michael seemed a little dissapointed in his score: he was really straining to try and come up with 5+ dwarf names from "The Hobbit" (i.e. Gimli didn't count since he is only in LOTR)

My score will be going up a couple points shortly as I am marrying a geek that I met online.

re: Geek Test
OK... I am a little confused - it seems like we are talking about different tests... We know the difference between a Geek and a Nerd, right? 'Cause I am pretty sure that true Geeks would be totally offended if we called them Nerds. I clicked on the link that says "Expanded Geek Test" but then the test itself kept referring to Nerdity... Is there a separate test to determine Geekiness?

Anyway - here are my test results (although I have to say that a lot of things I answered yes to were because of an artsy fartsy tendency rather than nerdiness or geekiness)

Your 500 Point Nerdity Purity Test Results
You answered "yes" to 167 of 500 questions, making you 66.6% nerd pure; that is, you are 66.6% pure in the nerd domain (you have 33.4% nerd in you).
According to the scoring guide, your nerd experience level is: Closet nerd
Your Weirdness Factor (AKA Uniqueness Factor) is 11%, based on a comparison of your test results with 52554 other submissions for this test.

The average purity for this test is 63.4%.

I should have taken more math.

Yeah, we got the tests mixed together. The most recent responders took the "nerd" test. The link for the "geek" test is below. It's much cooler. ;)

I think my score went up from the last time I took this test. Now, how valid is that, really?
18.14596% - Geek

re: Geek Test
My score is up as well. But that makes sense, given how many questions are have you seen/have you read - more like experience will give you a higher score.

17% - Geek (thought I'd copied the exact number - it was 17.something%)
