God Doesn't Even Know We're Here

Actors: 5
Reference: Exodus 16 and other similar passages
Notes: This was our first skit!
The fun part is playing it so the audience does not realize the identity of the characters until Dave walks in near the end.

Synopsis

[View Full Script]
Four Israelites are grumpily eating manna off the ground, complaining about it all the while. In rapid succession they discuss all the great miracles God has done for their people - the manna, the great wealth obtained from the Egyptians, their miraculous clothing that never wears out, and the visible presence of God in the pillar of fire and cloud. However, instead of praising God, they complain about each miracle as if it were a curse instead. Finally, the fifth man arrives on stage, fresh from a conference with Moses. No, they are not leaving. Angrily, the guys ask who died and made him the boss? One of the others reminds him that Israel is a theocracy - a nation ruled by God through his chosen prophets. "God?" proclaims another angrily. "I don't think God even knows we're here!"
