Notes: You will need an experienced actress for the part of "Gertrude" - it's difficult for a non-external-processor to talk that fast!

Synopsis

[View Full Script]
Howard waits at a bus stop, reading his Bible. Gertrude, and external processor to the sxtreme, arrives to wait for the same bus. She never stops talking - about how stressed she is, how she's tired, cannot seem to get any rest, etc. All the while she's trying to find a comfortable spot - feet up, feet down, upside down, laying across Howard's lap, etc. Finally she notices Howard's reading and lets him get a word in edgewise to explain it. He's reading Matthew 11:28, "Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy- laden, and I will give you rest." He explains that this is not necessarily phyiscal rest, but far more important spiritual peace. Gertrude is interested and asks him to explain more as the bus arrives.
